Dr Protty is a Consultant Cardiologist at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. He graduated with honours, distinctions, and multiple academic prizes from the University of Birmingham in 2013. He subsequently completed his postgraduate clinical training in cardiology within the Wales deanery.

Throughout his career, Dr Protty has achieved significant professional milestones. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd), and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC). His academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Therapeutics from Cardiff University, awarded with Distinction, and a PhD in Medicine from the same institution. His doctoral research, funded by the prestigious Wellcome Trust GW4CAT fellowship, focused on cardiovascular medicine, pharmacology, and pathology.

Dr Protty has a particular subspecialty interest in interventional cardiology, specifically coronary stenting. He holds certification in this field from the European Association for Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI).

With his extensive qualifications and expertise in both general and interventional cardiology, Dr Protty supports our team by providing expert cardiology guidance to enhance patient outcomes by optimising cardiovascular management, risk stratification, and advising on drug interactions.
